The efficient transmission and distribution of gas and electricity, plus the supply of water and sewerage services to businesses and homes is another essential aspect of a productive infrastructure sector.
MECX prides itself on delivering works and providing services to the asset owners, operators and their contracted supply chain to help maintain the effectiveness of existing assets while helping to improve the capacity of those networks by enhancing the electricity, gas and water assets.
We offer services that cover the maintenance needs of the owners and operators such as the electricity transmission system operator and the 14 distribution network operators; the National Transmission System, and the 8 gas distribution networks; the 10 water and sewerage undertakers. Additionally, we work with the independent operators and undertakers that make up the rest of the utility sectors, including renewable energy.
Given the size and scale of investment required to enhance utility networks, we recognise that principal contractors will undertake a significant element of the work in this highly regulated market. We can support those activities by delivering projects in the following areas:
Electricity Transmission and Distribution:
- overhead lines
- underground cables
Gas Transmission and Distribution:
- compressor stations
- storage facilities
Water and Sewerage:
- treatment works
- pumping stations
- water mains
As the UK gears up to deliver a more significant share of its electricity power generation through the use of renewables – 30% by 2020 – the company has a focus on the continuing development of its skills and capacity to help build and maintain the various renewable power generation assets that the sector will require.
We are already familiar with the requirements of bioenergy (biogas and biomass), hydro (marine and wave), solar and wind developers, owners and operators, and we continue to enhance our works delivery, service provision and personnel supply capabilities to support their needs.
Vegetation Management Services
