Sponsored Walk For Dafydd Hellard

Sponsored Walk For Dafydd Hellard

A couple of team members from our Cardiff Office – namely Rebecca Williams and Dean Ivey embarked upon a sponsored walk on Saturday 14th July.  The walk was up Pen-Y-Fan which is the highest mountain in South Wales & situated in the Brecon Beacons National Park.  At 886 metres (2907 ft about sea-level, it is also the highest British peak south of Cadair Idris in Snowdonia.

The sponsored walk was to help raise money for a local lad – Dafydd Hellard who is currently fighting a major battle with cancer. The 33-year-old mature student from Treharris, represented Wales Students in last year’s Rugby World Cup. A former professional with South Wales Scorpions and currently player-coach at Valley Cougars, Dafydd has represented Wales at Under-19’s and Dragonhearts level, in addition to the students and has coached rugby league at junior level.

All the team at MECX wish Dafydd a swift recovery and sincerely hope that he will be back on the pitch very soon.
